The Isuzu MU-7 is a sport utility vehicle from the Japanese car and truck manufacturer Isuzu . This was produced from 2002 to 2013 exclusively by the Thai Thai Rung Union Car . The model is the closed version of the D-MAX on which the MU-7 is based. Isuzu Philippines produces the model under the name Isuzu Alterra .
The model is designed for up to seven passengers (including the driver) and is available both as a rear-wheel drive (2WD) and an all-wheel drive (4WD). Due to its extensive equipment options, the model is located in the entire middle class segment as well as in the upper class. Competitors are mainly off-road vehicles of the brands Toyota , Lexus , Honda and Nissan , which also experience high sales in Thailand. The MU-7 is powered by a 3.0 liter DOHC 16V common rail diesel with an output of 107 kW or, in the case of the heavier model versions, with 120 kW.
