history

In 1967, the Thai Rung Union Car Public Company Limited was founded by Vichien Phaoenchoke (originally Vichien Sae Chung) with government assistance. Negotiations made it possible to negotiate licenses from various manufacturers. And with the entry in the SET Index on the Stock Exchange of Thailand , the value of Thai Rung increased enormously and developed into the most important regional automobile manufacturer.

In 1999 Thai Rung expanded to Chile . However, the vehicles are only sold there with moderate success. Nevertheless, Thai Rung is sure to be able to build up a larger network of dealers there.

Thai Rung vehicles have been sold to China and Iran as kit cars since 2000 . An expansion of the kit-car sales to Egypt , Kenya and the Philippines will take place soon. However, workshops with trained specialists are still being sought for this goal.
