The Isuzu VehiCROSS was a sporty SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) from the Japanese vehicle manufacturer Isuzu , which was only offered on the Japanese (1997-1999), Chinese (1997-1999) and US-American market (1999-2001). The car had the so-called torque-on-demand all-wheel drive and engines from the Isuzu Trooper as standard . In total, only 5958 vehicles were built in five years, 1805 of them for the home market of Japan and 4153 for export to the USA . In the People's Republic of China, on the other hand, the model was offered by Qingling Motors in small numbers under the name Isuzu Tiejingang ( 五十铃 铁 金刚 ), which means something like iron king .

Awards and motorsport
The Isuzu VehiCROSS was the winner of its class at the Paris-Dakar rally in 1998 and 1999. Also in 1999, it won the "Most Unique Styling" award from Motor Trend automobile magazine .
In the movie
The prototype Isuzu VXO 2 appeared in the movie Mission to Mars , and several VehiCROSS were used in the Mutant X television series .
