history

The 810 series appeared in August 1983, initially with four round headlights. In 1986 there were small changes due to new noise regulations. The headlights were now square instead of round. There was now a steering wheel lock. Automatic transmission was now available as an option . The new generation received the 6SD1 CXH23 turbo engine. In 1989 there were minor changes to the front bumper, grille and a new dashboard, as well as a permanent retarder as an option. In 1992 the front was redesigned with a front mask with new headlights. Modification of the turbo in-line six-cylinder engine 6RB1, now with common rail injection and hill start-up aid, partly as standard equipment. Production ended in 1994, and the Isuzu Giga became its successor .
