The Quick Delivery ( Japanese ク イ ッ ク デ リ バ リ ー ) is a box-shaped van from the Japanese automobile brand Toyota . It was specially designed for the delivery of heavy goods within large cities in land transport.

The Quick Delivery was first brought onto the market in the spring of 1982. Upon request, the QD s (short form) could also be converted into refrigerated trucks, mobile homes or other versions.

The idea for the van came from the transport company Yamato Transport Co., Ltd. Toyota then developed a suitable construction under the project name Araco and placed it on the frame of the ToyoAce . The constructions were then adapted to each other and the construction strengthened with additional materials and safety struts.

The vehicles were optionally available with a 4-speed automatic transmission or a manual 5-speed transmission.

Model overview

Quick Delivery 100 (LH8 # VH; 1982-2000)

Toyota Quick Delivery 100

The model series began in the spring of 1982 with the establishment of the Quick Delivery 100 , which was built on the ToyoAce . The construction allowed a maximum load of 1.25 tons. The Quick Delivery of the LH8 # VH generation was only available with permanent all-wheel drive. The vehicle was powered by a Hino LH8 # VH with a 3-liter displacement.

In 1995 this engine was replaced by a new engine variant with a displacement of around 2 liters in order to comply with the current prescribed emission values. In 2000, Toyota stopped production of the LH8 # VH.

Quick Delivery MC (BU68VH / RZU68VH; 1986–1999)

Toyota Quick Delivery MC

The Quick Delivery MC was added to the model range as a second model version in January 1986. With the new version, a total load of up to two tons could now be transported. A Toyota 3B engine with a displacement of 3.0 liters and a Toyota B engine with a displacement of 3.4 liters were available .

Due to new emission regulations in 1994, the engines had to be adapted accordingly. At the same time, however, the interior was also revised and refreshed with new style elements.

In autumn 1999 the production of the MC was stopped due to insufficient demand.

Quick Delivery 200 (BU28 # K / # ZU28 # K; 1999–2011)

Toyota Quick Delivery 200

The Quick Delivery 200 appeared in 1999 as the successor to the MC . For the first time the name has now been abbreviated as QD . Toyota uses a 4B engine ( diesel engine ) with a displacement of 3.7 liters for the QD200 . In 2000, Toyota added an LPG variant with a 2.7 liter 3RZ engine to an engine range. So far, however, the diesel has remained the more popular version with customers.

In 2007, Hino developed a common rail diesel with direct injection of the type N04C-TN for the QD200 on behalf of Toyota Motor Corporation , which has been officially available since October 25, 2006. At the same time, Toyota started using a new gearbox for the QD200, which replaced the older 5-speed gearbox.

The company finally made a significant change on September 4, 2007. Again the gearbox was replaced by a newer type in order to achieve a reduction in fuel consumption demanded by the economy. This is also the case with the automatic version. The QD200 is currently classified as a low-emission vehicle by the Japanese ministries, giving customers tax breaks. Appropriate approval was granted by the Ministry of Land and Economy , which awarded the QD200 the environmental prize. Production of the QD200 finally ended in September 2011.

Quick Delivery Y200 (LY22 # K; 2001–2003)

Toyota Quick Delivery Y200

To replace the Quick Delivery 100 , Toyota presented the new Quick Delivery Y200 in January 2001 . Like its predecessor, the Y200 was designed for a maximum payload of 1.25 tons. Toyota used the in-house 5L engine for the drive . In 2003 production of the Y200 was stopped due to insufficient demand.
