The Toyota Yaris Verso , also called Toyota FunCargo , is 3.89 meters long and is a microvan based on the Toyota Yaris , which was produced from autumn 1999 to mid-2005. Toyota itself calls the concept "Multi Purpose Vehicle" (MPV), which is intended to describe the versatility of the vehicle concept.

The Yaris Verso is particularly characterized by its outer rear seats that can be lowered into the floor. As a result, the originally 390-liter luggage compartment can be transformed into a smooth load compartment with a capacity of over 1900 liters. The middle rear seat is completely removed during the conversion and can be carried along or stored externally. With normal use as a five-seater, the space for lowering the rear seats can be used as additional storage space. The passenger in the middle rear seat has a full three-point seat belt with two belt straps / buckles.

The Yaris Verso received four stars from Euro NCAP when it was launched in autumn 1999 . Later the models were equipped with side airbags. The diesel version had no ESP until the series was discontinued, despite the tall structure and short wheelbase . The Toyota Yaris Verso has been built with various petrol engines and one diesel engine.

In spring 2003, a handful of detail improvements were made to the Yaris Verso as well as a slight freshening up of the exterior.

In mid-2005 production was stopped due to a lack of demand. It was not until the beginning of 2011 that a successor came onto the market with the Toyota Verso-S .
