The Corona Coupé is a passenger car built from 1985 to 1989 by the Japanese car manufacturer Toyota , which was developed on the basis of the sister model Toyota Celica . The market launch of the two-door, front-wheel drive Corona Coupé took place on January 8, 1985. The new model was available from the outset with a small selection of interior and motors.

The following engines were available:

  • 4A-GELU with 1600 cm³ displacement and an output of 120 hp
  • 1S-iLU with 1800 cm³ displacement and an output of 105 hp
  • 3S-GELU with 1800 cm³ displacement and an output of 160 hp

Over time, more engines were added to the selection, so in August 1987 the 3S-FELU followed with a capacity of 2000 cm³. In May 1988, the revised 4S-FiLU was added instead of the 1S-iLU . Both had a displacement of 1800 cm³. The Corona Coupé 2000VX equipment variant was added in April 1989. The production of the Corona Coupé was stopped in September 1989. This was replaced by the Corona EXiV . The production line was then converted to the Toyota Corsa , which was enjoying increasing demand at the time.
