The Toyota Corolla Rumion is a small car sold mainly in Japan by the Japanese car manufacturer Toyota , which has been offered as an independent model series since September 9, 2007. In Australia, however, the model is called Toyota Rukus .

The model was developed on the specially developed MC platform and is technically based on the Corolla Axio . The official sister model is the Scion xB offered in the USA .

With the introduction of the Corolla Rumion, Toyota wanted to bring a mid-range small car to the market to replace the Corolla Sedan , which was discontinued on September 9, 2007 . This is to be included in the model range parallel to the Corolla Axio, in order to target younger customers.

The Corolla Rumion is available in the standard versions STD, G, S, SE, LE and LX, which differ only slightly from each other. The vehicle is manufactured exclusively with a Super CVT-i transmission .

With dark brown metallic paint, Toyota presented the special model Chocolate AEROTURER , which was styled by a Japanese tuner and was equipped with a 1.5l engine with 110 hp. The model was then replaced on April 22, 2008 by the AEROTOURER SORA . This had a more subtle appearance. The vehicle parts developed for this purpose were also available separately as the AEROTOURER sports package. In August 2008, the special model was replaced by the 1.5G Smart Package and 1.5G Smart Package equipment packages . There were various special paints to choose from for the two packages. In addition, the two versions each had their own headlights, an armrest on the driver's seat as standard and a smart start system.

The Corolla Rumion is also sold in limited numbers in other countries. However, these vehicles are all left-hand drive.
