With the Mark II BLIT (Japanese: マ ー ク II ブ リ ッ ト), the Japanese automobile manufacturer Toyota continued its Mark II line of station wagons as an independent model series , thus replacing the official predecessor Mark II Qualis .

The name of the new model was originally supposed to have the German name BLITZ . However, due to the fact that the name was identical to the racing car (only nickname here) and the Opel truck called Opel Blitz , disputes were feared. The name also suggests the Japanese tuner Blitzen , which mainly deals with Subaru vehicles. In relation to this, the model name was shortened to BLIT and the model was incorporated into the portfolio as an independent Mark II model series.

Official engine selection of the Mark II BLIT :

  • 1G-FE with a displacement of 1988 cm³ and an output of 118 kW / 160 PS
  • 1JZ-FSE with a displacement of 2491 cm³ and an output of 147 kW / 200 PS
  • 1JZ-GE with a displacement of 2491 cm³ and an output of 196 hp
  • 1JZ-GTE with a displacement of 2491 cm³ and an output of 206 kW / 280 PS (turbo, abolished in July 2006)

On 9 November 2004, the saloon was the Mark II set and was the Mark X replaced. Until September 26, 2007, the Mark II BLIT was the only remaining model of the Mark II era, which was subsequently replaced by the Mark X Zio .
