The Toyota Blizzard was an off-road vehicle that the Toyota subsidiary Daihatsu produced for Toyota from March 1980 to 1990 in two generations. The Blizzard was only intended for the Japanese market, but some private individuals also exported it to North America .
All models of the off-road vehicle, manufactured as a 3-door station wagon, were equipped with four-cylinder diesel engines from Toyota.

The erste.Generation LD10 based on the Daihatsu Taft , however, had the 2,188-cm³- suction diesel with 72 hp (53 kW). Until 1983 there was only a 4-speed, then 5-speed manual transmission .

The second generation based on the Daihatsu Rugger appeared in the third quarter of 1984 . The Toyota models were either fitted with a 2.4 liter naturally aspirated diesel engine, of the 83 HP (61 kW) developed, or with a 2.0 liter turbocharged diesel made, the 96 hp (71 kW). The LD20 had a selectable all-wheel drive , a 5-speed gearbox and a 2-stage reduction gear.
In 1987 the LD20 received a minor facelift . The later model can be recognized by the rectangular headlights and larger bumpers.
