Toyota Etios , Toyota Etios Liva and Toyota Etios Cross are passenger car models from the Japanese car manufacturer Toyota and have been produced for emerging markets since December 2010 . Production takes place in Bidadi ( Ramanagara District , India), Sorocaba (Brazil) and Karawang ( Jawa Barat , Indonesia). Motors and gearboxes are delivered from Japan, the other parts are produced on site. The name Etios comes from the Greek "ethos", which translated means spirit, character and ideas. Initially, the model was only available on the Indian market.
Toyota Etios (since 2010)
The Toyota Etios was first presented as a concept vehicle at the Auto Expo 2010 in New Delhi . Production started in December 2010. The main competitors are Maruti Suzuki Swift , Hyundai Accent , Tata Indigo Manza, Mahindra Verito, Chevrolet Aveo and Ford Fiesta . The Etios is powered by a 1.5 l petrol engine with 66 kW (90 PS) or a 1.4 l diesel engine with 50 kW (68 PS), each with a 5-speed manual transmission.
Toyota Etios Liva (since 2011)
The Etios Liva is the hatchback version of the Etios. It was launched in June 2011. In addition to the above, the main competitors are the Suzuki Ritz , Hyundai i10 , Hyundai i20 , Tata Indica , Honda Jazz , Fiat Grande Punto , Škoda Fabia , VW Polo , Nissan Micra and the newly launched Honda Brio . In addition to the diesel engine, as in the notchback, the Livia has a 1.2 l petrol engine with 59 kW (80 hp).
Toyota Etios Cross (since 2014)
The Etios Cross is the crossover version of the Liva. It has been sold since 2014 and competes against vehicles such as the Hyundai i20 Active or the VW CrossPolo .

The Etios and Etios Liva are equipped with an immobilizer , double airbags and an anti-lock braking system. Electronic brake force distribution (EBD) is available as standard with higher-quality equipment. The Etios and Etios Liva do not have Euro-NCAP and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ratings. In the LatinNCAP, the Etios achieved four out of five stars for occupant protection, making it one of the safest vehicles in its class on the Brazilian market.
