Sorocaba is a city in the southeast of the Brazilian state of São Paulo . It has 644,000 inhabitants (2015) and is an important industrial center in the country. The city was founded in 1654 by a group of Bandeirantes from São Paulo .
The car manufacturer Toyota operates a plant in Sorocaba where the Toyota Etios model is finally assembled.
