VW Polo

The VW Polo is a small car built by the Wolfsburg-based car manufacturer Volkswagen since spring 1975 . The vehicle model, whose name is derived from the sport of polo , was initially the economy version of the slightly better equipped Audi 50 , whose production was discontinued in mid-1978. The Polo IV reached the dimensions of the VW Golf II .

Under the names Polo Classic and Polo Variant , Volkswagen sold a Seat Cordoba or Seat Cordoba Vario with modified front and rear sections. Volkswagen South Africa sold the Seat Ibiza under the name "VW Polo Playa".

The current model is the VW Polo VI .
