The VW Virtus is a sedan in small car format built by Volkswagen in Brazil based on the VW Polo VI . The vehicle is therefore based on the MQB-A0 platform. The predecessor of the Virtus is the notchback version of the VW Polo V .
history
The sedan was presented in November 2017 in São Paulo, Brazil . Initially, the Virtus has been sold exclusively in Brazil since January 2018 and built at the Volkswagen plant in Anchieta in São Bernardo do Campo ( State of São Paulo ). The car could later be offered in other markets.
At the São Paulo International Motor Show in November 2018, Volkswagen presented the Virtus GTS Concept, a near-series concept vehicle of a sports version. This is powered by the 110 kW (150 PS) 1.5-liter gasoline engine from the VW EA211 evo series .

The name of the vehicle comes from Latin and means "virtue / courage".
Technical specifications
At the market launch, the Virtus is powered by a turbocharged three-cylinder gasoline engine with a displacement of one liter and 85 kW (116 hp). This can also be operated with ethanol and then has an output of 95 kW (129 hp). A 1.6-liter gasoline engine with 81 kW (110 hp) is also available. This variant can also be operated with ethanol and then has an output of 86 kW (117 hp).
