The VW ID.4 is a battery-electric powered SUV from Volkswagen . After the ID.3, it is the second production vehicle from Volkswagen that is based on the modular electric drive kit (MEB). At around 4.6 m, it is similar in length to the Tiguan, for example .
The ID.4 concept vehicle is the VW ID presented in 2017 . Crozz . The ID.4 should come onto the market in 2020.
Variants with rear-wheel and all-wheel drive are planned. In addition, sister vehicles from Skoda and Audi are planned. Production will start at the Zwickau plant and China in 2020, and also in the USA from 2022.

The ID.4 is 4.60 m long, 1.85 m wide and 1.63 m high.
drive
Just like the ID.3, the rear-wheel drive variants have an output of 150 kW. With all-wheel drive, there is a second, smaller electric motor with an output of 75 kW on the front axle. The system output is therefore 225 kW. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h for the ID.4 with a driven axle is 8 seconds, with all-wheel drive 6 seconds.
Battery and charging capacity
VW specifies the range for the variant with a large drive battery with up to 500 km according to WLTP . This battery has an energy content of 77 kWh (net). Alternatively, a 45 kWh and a 58 kWh battery are available.
The ID.4 supports alternating current charging via a type 2 connection (max. 11 or 22 kW) and direct current fast charging via a CCS connection. Fast charging with 50 kW is possible as standard, optionally with up to 125 kW.
Prices
The price for the entry-level version should be around 40,000 US dollars, or around 36,000 €.
