The VW Caddy (9U) , also known as the VW Caddy II Pickup, is a commercial vehicle model from the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brand of the Volkswagen Group . From mid-1996 to the end of 2000 it was offered as a pickup in parallel with the panel van / high-roof combination VW Caddy (9KV) . The predecessor is the VW Caddy (14D) .
history
Although small flatbed trucks are less popular in Germany than z. B. in Southeast Europe or Asia, the Caddy (9U) was added to the VW range as a badge engineered version of the Škoda Felicia pick-up. The target group were mainly small and medium-sized companies. It was manufactured by Škoda Auto in Kvasiny ( Czech Republic ).
Except for the VW logo on the radiator grille, the tailgate and on the steering wheel, there are no differences to the Škoda sister model of the VW Group. The Caddy (9U) was offered either open, with a tarpaulin structure or with a removable plastic hardtop. It has a self-supporting body and can load up to 500 kg.
