optics

The VW up! is the smallest production vehicle from Volkswagen (as of 2013) and at the same time the basis for the construction of the VW Taigun: The design study corresponded to an SUV variant of the small car and should catch up with competing models such as the Opel Mokka , the Škoda Yeti or the Nissan Juke . Although intended as the little brother of the Tiguan, the Taigun, apart from the front section, was more of an elevated up! with off-road appearance, because with striking similarities to the Tiguan. The windows in the rear doors, for example, can also be opened as in the up! not countersunk, but could only be exposed by a few centimeters. The interior of the Taigun was also based on the small car.

Technical specifications

If the 1.2 TSI was the smallest engine from VW so far, a new unit derived from the 1.4 TSI with only three cylinders was to be introduced in the VW Taigun and to achieve the next lower level in terms of downsizing and consumption . The turbocharger output should be 81 kW (110 PS) and the top speed 186 km / h, the average consumption was given as 4.7 liters of petrol per 100 kilometers.
