The VW Jetta Night is a lower middle class passenger car, which is produced by FAW-Volkswagen for the market of the People's Republic of China in the plants Changchun and Chengdu . The model has been built since February 2013 and is the successor to the Jetta Pioneer , which was still based on the Jetta II .
At the market launch, the Jetta Night was available with two different EA211 engines . They comply with the China IV emissions standard . They are four-cylinder in- line engines with four valves per cylinder. As with all modern engines, fuel injection is electronically controlled. The engines are optionally available with an output of 66 kW (90 PS) or 81 kW (110 PS). The Jetta Night is available in the three equipment lines Avantgarde (时尚), Comfort (舒适) and Luxury (豪华). A 5-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed automatic are available. The manufacturer specifies a maximum speed of 181 to 185 km / h. The acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h should be 10.8 to 12.4 seconds. The turning circle is 10.7 meters.
In December 2016, the Jetta Night received a facelift. Two new engines were also introduced. The previous model has since been sold as the VW Jetta , the revised version as the VW New Jetta .
Technically, the Jetta Night corresponds to the VW Santana , which has been built since 2013 , the Škoda Rapid as well as the Seat Toledo .
For the Chinese market, the model has been manufactured at FAW-Volkswagen in Chengdu under the name Jetta VA3 since spring 2019 . With this model, the Jetta became a private label in China and is also the entry-level model of this brand.
