In October of the same year, the Iroc was shown at the Mondial de l'Automobile motor show in Paris. Based on this study, the series model produced in Palmela (Portugal ) was offered as the VW Scirocco (III) from mid-2008 to 2017 .
technology
The VW Iroc is a coupe with 4 seats (2 + 2 seater). The name Iroc indicates its roots, which are in the VW Sc IROC co - also a coupé. The vehicle is 4.24 m long, 1.80 m wide and 1.40 m high; the wheelbase is 2.68 m.
Most of the design elements and the dimensions of the body were carried over to the production model of the Scirocco. According to Günak, he voluntarily terminated his employment contract as head designer at VW before the Scirocco was released. The design drafts already completed by Günak for the series model of the Scirocco, which came from 2008, were not taken into account and redrawn by the new chief designer Walter de Silva , who had previously worked under Günak's direction - also based on the Iroc.
The TSI engine with 1.4 l displacement, familiar from the Golf V GT, sits under the bonnet of the car . It is a direct injection gasoline engine equipped with a turbocharger and a compressor . The output has been increased from 125 to 154 kW (210 PS) and is transmitted via a dual clutch transmission (DSG).
