The Volkswagen Bora , until 2010 Volkswagen New Bora , is a lower middle class passenger car that has been produced by FAW-Volkswagen at the Changchun plant for the People's Republic of China since 2007 .
The Bora is based on the Golf V's extended PQ35 platform . Unlike the European original, it is a four-door notchback sedan. The interior comes from the Magotan . The technology corresponds to that of the Jetta V and Lavida models .
The model is offered with two different engines. A 1.6-liter engine with an output of 77 kW (105 hp) and a 2.0-liter engine with an output of 88 kW (120 hp) are available. At 450 liters, the trunk volume is larger than that of the European Eos, which is also marketed in China.
In July 2012, a revised Bora was presented to the public. Series production started in February 2013. The 2.0-liter engine was omitted from the facelift. Instead there is a 1.4 liter TSI with 96 kW (131 PS).
The Bora received another extensive facelift in March 2016.
There are the equipment lines Shishangxing, Comfortline and Haohua.
On November 3, 2016, the Bora-based combination model C-Trek was launched in China.
