Daihatsu Sirion
The Daihatsu Sirion is a small car from the Japanese car brand Daihatsu . The model was introduced in early 1998 and is currently in the second and third generation.
The first as well as the second generation of the Sirion comes exclusively from Japanese production by the Ikeda plant.
The first generation, which was produced from January 1998, was a sister model of the Daihatsu Storia . In December 2001 a facelift took place in which the design of the small car was refreshed. The following generations of Sirion correspond to the contemporary Daihatsu Boon .
From September 2007 to September 2011, the Sirion was assembled for some European markets at the Magyar Suzuki plant near Esztergom in Hungary, where it rolled off the assembly line with the identical Subaru Justy .
In Indonesia, on the other hand, assembly of the Sirion did not begin until the following year, when Astra Daihatsu Motor built it for the local market in its factory near Jakarta . Unlike in Europe, assembly there was completed in May, as the first third-generation units were due to be imported in July. Unlike the previous model generations, this one comes from the production of the Malaysian car manufacturer Perodua . This is being built in Serendah together with the identical Perodua Myvi and is currently only intended for export to Indonesia. Outside Indonesia, only the second generation is still represented in the model range of the Japanese brand.
