The Sonica (Japanese: ソ ニ カ) is a minivan produced by the Japanese car and commercial vehicle manufacturer Daihatsu . It was presented to the world for the first time at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2006 . The Sonica is the official successor to the Daihatsu Max .
The Sonica is delivered with a 3-cylinder gasoline engine with a displacement of 660 cm³ and an output of 64 hp.
The standard equipment of the Sonica includes a CVT transmission, fog lamps, catalytic converter, radio with CD player and multifunction steering wheel.
On January 17, 2007, the Sonica received the Energy Conservation Award from the Secretary of the Natural Resources and Energy Agency .
