The Daihatsu Gran Max is a pickup truck produced by Astra Daihatsu Motor in Indonesia since 2008. Buy minibus - van - and flatbed versions. The curb weight is given as 1840–2000 kg. In addition to Indonesia, it is also offered in other Asian countries, but not in Japan . There the model is offered by the Daihatsu parent company Toyota using badge engineering as Toyota TownAce and Toyota LiteAce . A minivan , the Daihatsu Luxio , was also created based on the Gran Max .

The Gran Max was developed on the basis of the Daihatsu Hijet , but it has a longer wheelbase than this. The engines used are the K3-DE 1.3 L with 88 HP and the KSZ-VE 1.5 L VVT-i with 97 HP petrol engines. In addition to the five-speed manual transmission , a four-speed automatic transmission is also optionally available. As a panel van and minibus, it has a sliding door on the side and a tailgate. A maximum of nine seats are possible, with all three versions in the cab for three people. With the beginning of the introduction as Toyota models in Japan, the gas springs of the tailgate, the door locks and the door handles were revised because they turned out to be too weak.
