The Daihatsu Feroza is a small off-road vehicle from the Japanese car manufacturer Daihatsu .

History and dates

Production of the vehicle began in 1989 and was discontinued in 1999. The Feroza was available in several trim levels and received a facelift in 1994. From 1988 to 1991 the car was equipped with a 1.6 liter carburettor engine with 86 hp (HD-C), after which a 1.6 liter petrol engine with 95 hp and a catalytic converter was offered (HD-E).

The similarity between the Feroza and its big brother, the Daihatsu Rocky , is hard to miss. Both are off-road vehicles with switchable all-wheel drive and reduction, depending on the equipment also with limited slip differentials, but the Rocky has the greater ground clearance and the larger engine, so that the standard version of the Feroza is primarily intended for light terrain.

The car was marketed as Rocky in the US, Rocky SX in Japan, and Sportrak in the UK.

Daihatsu Feroza (Facelift)

The facelift version has been in production since 1994 and received some minor optical and technical changes. For example, the headlights and the radiator grille were slightly modified. The production of the facelift model and that of its predecessor ran in parallel for some time. Production intended for the German market was discontinued in 1997. For some other countries, however, production continued until 1999.
