The Toyota Probox is a small delivery van that Toyota introduced in Japan in August 2002. The car is closely related to the Succeed .
The small, 5-door station wagon offers five seats. The wheels are individually suspended: at the front on MacPherson struts and wishbones, at the rear on longitudinal swing arms with coil springs. While the front wheels are equipped with ventilated disc brakes, the rear wheels are braked with drum brakes. The car is fitted with 165/80 R 13 tires.
The Probox is powered by an in-line four-cylinder engine with two overhead camshafts (DOHC), which is equipped with Toyota's variable valve control (VVTi) and electronic fuel injection (EFI). The dimensions of the engine are bore × stroke = 75.0 mm × 84.7 mm, the compression is 10.5: 1. The engine, type 1NZ-FE has a displacement of 1,496 cm³, has a maximum output of 105 bhp (77 kW ) at 6000 min −1 and has a maximum torque of 138 Nm at 4200 min −1 .
The engine power is transmitted to all four wheels via a manually shifted five-speed gearbox or a four-speed automatic. The Probox is equipped with permanent all-wheel drive as standard .
