As the successor to the Toyota Cavalier imported from the USA , the Toyota Allion became its official successor in 2001 . Unlike its predecessor, the new model has been given modern features and better equipment.

Toyota Allion NZT240

More than a year after the concept redesign of the unsuccessful Toyota Cavalier , Toyota presented the new Toyota Allion on December 25, 2001. The sister model was the Toyota Premio . The only change followed on December 20, 2004 with the modification of the bumper and taillight design. With the changeover, Toyota only used LED lighting systems.

The following engines were available:

  • NZT240 (2WD): 1NZ-FE with a displacement of 1500 cm² and an output of 80 kW (109 PS)
  • ZZT240 (2WD): 1ZZ-FE with a displacement of 1800 cm³ and an output of 97 kW (132 PS)
  • ZZT245 (AWD): 1ZZ-FE with a displacement of 1800 cm³ and an output of 92 kW (125 PS)
  • AZT240 (2WD): 1AZ-FSE with a displacement of 2000 cm³ and an output of 114 kW (155 PS)
  • AZT245 (AWD): 1AZ-FSE with a displacement of 2000 cm³ and an output of 112 kW (152 PS)

Toyota Allion A18

With a new character, the second generation of models went into series production on June 4, 2007. Although the body of the model has hardly been changed, the new generation of models has a larger interior and a higher standard than its predecessor.

The following engines are available:

  • A15 (2WD): 1NZ-FE with a displacement of 1.5 l and an output of 81 kW (110 PS)
  • A18 (2WD): 2ZR-FE with a displacement of 1.8 l and an output of 100 kW (136 PS)
  • A18 (AWD): 2ZR-FE with a displacement of 1.8 l and an output of 92 kW (125 PS)
  • A20 (2WD): 3ZR-FAE with a displacement of 2.0 l and an output of 116 kW (158 PS)

On September 2, 2008, Toyota added the A15G to the model range. This is an A15 model clad with a sports package.

The Z300 introduced in May 2012 by the Chinese manufacturer Zotye International is very similar to the Allion.
