Zotye International
Zotye is a current automobile manufacturer from Yongkang in the People's Republic of China . Parts for the automotive industry are also sold under the Zotye Holding Group.
Corporate development
Founded Zotye International on 13 January 2005 by the Zotye Holding Group with the status of a limited liability company. Until then, the Zotye Holding Group dealt with imports from abroad. Contracts were concluded with companies to exchange economic and technological products in order to open up the markets for them. By 2005, the trade organization Zotye had made a name for itself as a reliable partner on almost every continent. Zotye was able to set up commercial branches in a total of 10 countries.
With the newly founded Zotye International, the company entered the production of automobiles. With this changeover, the products of the Zotye Holding Group are also very much geared towards the automotive industry. Various parts in these industries have been part of the program since then.
The brand's first model is a small off-road vehicle. With its body, the Zotye RV6400 is very reminiscent of the Dario Terios . After a construction period of two years, the name of the model was changed to Zotye in 2008.
The official turnover of Zotye International in 2006 was 2.88 billion Renminbi (approx. 290 million €).
In 2009 Zotye launched its second car model on the Chinese market, the Zotye Multiplan, which is a further development of the Fiat Multipla . At the same time, Zotye also changed its brand logo. Since then, the 2008 has been called Zotye Nomad for the export market . From 2009 the Nomad was also assembled in Sri Lanka by United Motors Lanka .
Then Zotye International bought the Zhangjiagang Jiangnan Automobile Manufacture , which was fully integrated into the company. The small car from Jiangnan is now also available as the Zotye JN AUTO after a facelift . The manufacturer then established a crossover based on the 2008 in September 2009 and hopes that it will achieve a breakthrough in the Middle East market. The model will be known locally as the Zotye 5008, while the export model will be offered as the Zotye Nomad II . But despite the large product range, Zotye International would like to bring more products to the market next year. Together with LUIS AG and LUIS Motors GmbH, Zotye has been bringing a purely electric version of the 5008 to the European market since the beginning of 2010. Similar to the old Fiat Albea , the two new models Zotye Langjun and Zotye Langjie appeared in April 2010 . These were developed in collaboration with the Fiat Group .
In recent years, the car manufacturer Zotye has also attracted attention with its brazen product imitations. Mention should be made in this context of the Zotye SR7 ( imitating the Audi Q3 ), the Zotye SR9 ( imitating the Porsche Macan ), the Zotye T500 ( imitating the Audi Q5 ), the Zotye Damai X5 ( imitating the VW Tiguan ) and the Zotye Damai X7 ( imitating the VW CrossBlue Coupé concept ). Obviously, Volkswagen has so far only insufficiently succeeded in asserting parts of its patent, utility and design rights in Chinese courts (status: Dec. 2016). The imitation models mentioned all come from the Volkswagen Group.
At the end of June 2017, the company announced that it would introduce a new sub-brand under the name Traum . Traum wants to bring eight SUVs onto the market by 2019. With the Traum T70 , the brand's first vehicle has been sold in China since January 2018.
