Tianjin Sanfeng Minibus Co. Ltd. , previously Tianjin Tram Repair and Manufacturing Factory and Tianjin Bus Works , or Sanfeng Minibus Co. Ltd. was a manufacturer of motor vehicles from the People's Republic of China .

Company history

The company from Tianjin was called Tianjin Tram Repair and Manufacturing Factory until 1950 and then Tianjin Bus Works . In 1956 the production of buses began and in 1965 that of minibuses , which were initially marketed as Tianjin . In the 1980s and 1990s, the brand name was Sanfeng . In 1993 the name was changed to Tianjin Sanfeng Minibus Co. Ltd. Another source names the company name Sanfeng Minibus Co. Ltd. In 1995 passenger cars were also made . At times the company had 3500 employees. In 2002 the company merged with Tianjin Special Purpose Vehicles Work to form Tianjin Meiya . The connection to Tianjin Group Meiya Auto is unclear.
