Emgrand was a brand of the Chinese automobile manufacturer Geely from Hangzhou .

description

The market launch was in July 2009. Geely wanted to develop a range of models under the name Emgrand, which would compete with foreign brands on quality and not just on price. It was unclear whether the vehicles should also be offered in Western Europe or the USA; however, isolated sightings from Amsterdam speak for it.

Geely stated that the Emgrand models are suitable for 5 stars in the EuroNCAP crash test. The engines should already meet the Euro 5 emissions standard. The previous Emgrand models were priced below current competing models from abroad, but were more than 50% higher than the other Chinese vehicles in the same class.

The discontinuation of the brand was announced in 2014 and will continue until 2016. Geely continues to use the name as a model name.
