Guangzhou Baolong Motors Co. Ltd. , previously Guangzhou Oriental Baolong Automotive Industry Co. Ltd. , was a manufacturer of automobiles from the People's Republic of China .

Company history

Yang Longjiang founded the company in June 1998 in Guangzhou . He started with the production of automobiles. The brand name was Baolong . Production took place in three factories in Guangzhou and one in Zhanjiang . Production ended in 2005.

In September 2005, together with FAW Hongta Yunnan Automobile Manufacturing, the successor company FAW Baolong Light Vehicle was founded in the same location.

Initially, Baolong manufactured bulletproof vehicles based on Mitsubishi V 31 and V 33 , Ford Transit , Renault Trafic and models from Mitsubishi .

From November 2001, vans were on offer. The Tianmazuo , also called Pegasus , was the licensed version of the Mitsubishi Space Gear . The TBL 6500 H offered space for seven people and had a four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 2351 cm³ and an output of 97 kW. The identically motorized TBL 6500 had eleven seats. In 2003 the seven-seater TBL 6508 H and the TBL 6508 with either eight or eleven seats added to the range. Both were powered by a V6 engine with 2972 ​​cc and 118 kW. TBL 6500 H and TBL 6508 H were 4595 mm long, 1695 mm wide and 1950 mm high with a wheelbase of 2800 mm and a track width of 1445 mm (front) and 1420 mm (rear). The TBL 6508 had a wheelbase of 3000 mm, a length of 5080 mm, a width of 1820 mm and a height of 1960 mm. All versions were revised in October 2003.

In April 2004 Matra bought the rights for the Renault Espace III . The production of this model is not recorded.
