Shenzhen Baoneng Motor , previously Changan PSA Automobiles , is an automobile manufacturer from the People's Republic of China .

Company history

Changan PSA Automobiles was founded in late 2010 or on November 16, 2011, depending on the source. The company itself specifies the following order: On July 9, 2010, a letter of intent for the joint venture was signed. On December 30, 2010, the Chinese State Administration for Industry and Commerce approved the company name in advance. On July 12, 2011, the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission gave its approval. MOFCOM granted approval on November 15, 2011. On November 16, 2011, the Chinese State Administration of Industry and Commerce issued the business license.

The seat is in Shenzhen . Chongqing Changan Automobile Company and the French Groupe PSA were originally involved . Changan held 50%.

According to a report from November 2019, production was stopped due to lack of demand. On November 30, 2019, it was announced that the Baoneng Group from Shenzhen was a potential buyer of the PSA stake. At the end of 2019, Changan announced that they wanted to sell their shares. On January 3, 2020, a report appeared that Baoneng had acquired the shares in Changan and PSA. Their vehicle department Baoneng Motor was founded in March 2017. On May 22, 2020, it was reported that the acquired company was renamed Shenzhen Baoneng Motor and belongs to Baoneng Motor . Other sources confirm the renaming. The company was inaugurated on May 30, 2020. Production is scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of 2020.

PSA also has the joint venture Dongfeng Peugeot Citroën Automobile in China with Dongfeng Motor Corporation .

The company has been manufacturing vehicles that correspond to the French brand DS Automobiles since 2013 . Are called DS 4S (since 2016), DS 5 (2013-2019), DS 5LS (since 2014), DS 6 (since 2014) and DS 7 (since 2018). Some models are special China designs that are only made in China.

According to one source, Citroën vehicles are or were made, but Peugeot is not.

In the 2013 launch year, 1,271 new DS vehicles were registered in China. In the following year the highest value of 26,008 was achieved. The numbers for the next few years are 21,451, 16,156, 5,847, 3,867 and 1,254.
