BMW is a car brand from the People's Republic of China .

Brand history

BMW Brilliance Automotive , a joint venture between BMW and Brilliance China Automotive Holdings from Shenyang , uses this international brand for automobiles . The start of production and market launch was in 2003.

Models

From September 2003 the BMW 3 Series E46 was assembled from delivered parts using the SKD method .

In January 2004, the BMW 5 Series E60 was added. Now some parts came from local production.

In September 2005 the next 3 series of the E90 series appeared .

The long version of the E60 followed in October 2006.

This model was replaced by the long F10 in August 2010 .

From 2012 the 3 series of the F30 series was also assembled in China.

The BMW X1 of the E84 series was added at the beginning of 2012 .

From the end of 2014 the F10 was also available as a hybrid electric vehicle.

In March 2016, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer from the F45 series added to the range.

In May 2016, the long BMW X1 from the F49 series was added.

March 2017 saw the introduction of the BMW 1 Series as a sedan of the F52 series , which is produced exclusively in China and for the Chinese and Mexican markets.

The next 5 series of the G30 series appeared in June 2017 . From March of the following year it was also available as a hybrid.

In June 2018, the sixth model series came onto the market with the BMW X3 of the G01 series.

In July 2019, the new 3 Series in the G20 series replaced the previous model.

In October 2019, the BMW X2 of the F39 series was added as the seventh model series.

statistics

One source states that 7,500 vehicles were produced in 2003 and 15,138 in the following year. Another source names the figures 9,736, 25,808 and 34,720 for the years 2005 to 2007, although it remains unclear whether these are production or registration figures. That doesn't match the registration figures in China.
