The BMW X1 is a compact SUV from BMW that has been on the market since 2009 and is now in the second generation since 2015. In the same year, this model was awarded the golden steering wheel in the mid-size SUV class.
The main competing models nationally and internationally include the Audi Q3 , the Volvo XC40, the Hyundai ix35 , the Mercedes GLA-Class and the VW Tiguan .

Registration numbers
Since the market launch up to and including December 2018 a total of 286,179 BMW X1s have been newly registered in Germany. 2019 was the most successful sales year with 36,109 units.
