The BMW Nazca C2 is a prototype from the German car manufacturer BMW from 1991. It was shown for the first time at the Tokyo Motor Show . The design comes from Italdesign , which was founded by Giorgio Giugiaro and Aldo Mantovani.
The C2 model is the further development of the BMW Nazca M12. A special feature of the gullwing provide the magnesium rims and the Formula 1 -tyres the firm Goodyear . The Nazca C2 had the (from Alpina uprated) 5.0 l V12 of the BMW available since 1989 8 Series , reaching into Also divide their design. Compared to the 8 Series BMW, the car looked less like a classic sports coupe and more like a modern super sports car .

Technical specifications
The Nazca C2 had a V-engine with twelve cylinders, a displacement of 4,988 cm³ and a torque of 470 Nm. It was almost certainly a matter of the M70B50 (5012A) engine with 220 kW / 300 PS and 450 Nm (originally used in the BMW 750i / iL [E32] and in the BMW 850i [E31]), while maintaining the displacement Alpina has increased its performance to 257 kW / 350 PS and 470 Nm and was also used in the Alpina B12 5.0. The power transmission was done by a six-speed gearshift, which transmitted its power to the rear wheels. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h took place in 4.2 seconds and, according to the factory specifications, the vehicle reached a top speed of 297 km / h. The car had a tank volume of 70 liters and a consumption (according to the factory) of 10.4 liters per 100 kilometers.
Nazca C2 Spider
In 1993, Italdesign Giugiaro designed an open version of the Nazca C2. This no longer had wing doors, but normal doors that swing open. The engine was revised and now offered 283 kW (385 hp).
