Aleš Jindra (born June 12, 1973 in Pilsen ) is a former Czech soccer player and current soccer coach .

Player career

Jindra played for Škoda Pilsen in his youth . In the 1993/94 season he did his military service at VTJ Karlovy Vary and then returned to Pilsen. There he came in the first division season 1994/95 on three missions and moved in the summer of 1995 to the then second division Chmel Blšany .

There Jindra was able to fight for a regular place and came in four years to 94 games in which he scored four goals. In the summer of 1999, the defender returned to his home club Viktoria Pilsen and helped the club to rise to the Gambrinus League with eight goals in 26 second division games . In early 2001 Jindra left his hometown and joined the then second division FK AS Pardubice for the second half of the 2000/01 season . Then Jindra moved to the then regional division FC Augsburg. In the first half of the 2007/08 season, the Czech played for SV Etzenricht in the Bavarian State League Middle .

Coaching career

In early 2008, Jindra began his coaching career as an assistant at the Czech second division club FK Baník Sokolov . In January 2009 he took over the coaching position at the Romanian club CFR Cluj . At the same time, Cluj hired the previous coach of FCU Politehnica Timișoara , Dušan Uhrin , as sports director , because according to the rules of the Romanian League 1, a coach is not allowed to work for two clubs during the same season. On April 5, 2009, Jindra and Uhrin were released from CFR Cluj. From 2009 to the end of 2011 Jindra was assistant coach at Sparta Prague , first under Jozef Chovanec , later under Martin Hašek . In early 2012 he became the head coach of Baník Sokolov, where he stayed until 2014.
