The BMW 319 was a small car that BMW built at the Eisenach plant from 1935 to 1937 as a more powerfully motorized version of the 315 . The corresponding sports model was the BMW 319/1 roadster . From 1936 there was a special model of the 319 under the name BMW 329 .
history
6468 pieces were made in two years. In 1937 the 320 model replaced the 319.
The available bodies corresponded to those of the smaller 315, but were RM 400, - more expensive. The touring car cost RM 4500, the limousine RM 4150 and the convertible sedan RM 4350. There was also a four-seater convertible for RM 4800, - and a two-seater sports convertible for RM 5150, -.
technology
After the sports model 315/1 had already been equipped with the new 1.9 liter 6-cylinder in-line engine in the previous year and thus became the 319/1 , the other models were also offered with this engine in 1935. The six-cylinder in 1911 cc and provided 45 hp (33 kW) at 3750 min -1 - 10 HP less than in sports model. The Hurth four-speed gearbox was retained. The top speed of the car was 115 km / h.
Chassis and brakes corresponded to the 315, a transverse leaf spring for the front axle and semi-elliptical longitudinal leaf springs at the rear. All four wheels were fitted with drum brakes that were operated with a cable.
