Shanghai Maple Automobile Co. Ltd. is a company in the automotive industry from the People's Republic of China .

Company history

In 2002 or 2003 Geely took over the Shanghai Jmster or Jmstar (Jiesida) Company from Shanghai and renamed it Shanghai Huapu (Maple) and Shanghai Maple Guorun Automobile . The brand name was Maple , possibly Huapu in Chinese , and was used until 2009, possibly 2010. A website that records registration numbers in China, however, carries the vehicles under the Geely brand with the addition of Maple, which indicates a sub-brand . The successor as a cheap brand of the Geely Group was Englon . On March 22, 2013, met with Zhejiang Kandi Vehicles establishing of Zhejiang Kandi Electric Vehicles Co. Ltd.

In the annual report of the Geely Group for 2019, the company is still listed as a sales company. The Maple brand is expected to be reintroduced in 2020.

The Jufeng SXE 7130 E was manufactured from the end of 2002 . This model with a large tailgate had an engine with a displacement of 1600 cc and an output of 63 kW. Another source calls the model Whirlwind.

At the end of 2003, the M 203 supplemented the range. Both models were similar to the Citroën ZX .

In 2004 the sedan Haiyu (Marindo) 303-SMA 7151 or M 303 was presented. There was a choice of either the Haixun engine or a larger engine with 1800 cc and 83 kW output. Production started in October 2005.

The M 203 was replaced in 2005 by the revised Haixun (Aisoon) 205-SMA 7150 model, which also had a large tailgate. Its engine developed 69 kW from a displacement of 1500 cm³.

The Marindo was presented in 2005 at the IAA in Frankfurt am Main .
