Zap Jonway

Zap Jonway (HK) Limited is a company in the People's Republic of China . It has made electric cars in the past .

Here is Zap (derived from the name of the company ZAP ) for Zero Air Pollution (in German about no air pollution ).

The current status of the company is unclear. The company's website was last accessible in mid-2017. A production has not survived since then.

history

In January 2011, the US company ZAP acquired a 51 percent stake in the Chinese automobile manufacturer Zhejiang Jonway Automobile . It is unclear whether ZAP subsequently changed its name to Zap Jonway or whether Jonway only became part of the ZAP scope of consolidation. The company was registered on February 11, 2011 with the number 1560630 and was still active in May 2020.

Models

Zap Jonway A 380

At the Auto Shanghai an electrically powered taxi based on the Jonway A380 (a replica of the 2011 was Toyota RAV4 ) presented.

In 2014, the Urbee (a light vehicle) and Sparkee (a model similar to the Smart Fortwo ) were announced.

The Urbee was sold in the USA and also offered in Germany from 2016.
