Chevrolet is a car brand from the People's Republic of China .

Brand history

Jinbei-GM Automotive from Shenyang , a joint venture between Jinbei Automobile and General Motors , began producing automobiles in 1992 , which were sold under this internationally used brand. After a few changes of ownership and name changes, Chevrolet production at this company ended in 2004. It still exists today as Shanghai GM (Shenyang) Norsom Motors, but is only described as a parts manufacturer in the SAIC Motor Group's annual notices that have been available since 2011 .

SAIC General Motors from Shanghai has been using this brand for passenger cars since 2003 . General Motors continues to own the trademark rights to Chevrolet .

The S-10 pick-up and the Blazer SUV were created between 1992 and 2004 .

The first model of recent times was the Spark , which was based on the Daewoo Matiz . GM Korea supplied the parts. In 2005 the Sail was added, which replaced the Buick Sail , which was identical in construction . With its notchback it differed from the Opel Corsa B on which it was based. The 2010 version was a Chinese in-house development.
