history

A first glimpse of the vehicle showed the manufacturer on the Guangzhou Auto Show in November 2016, which as a plug-in hybrid running concept car Buick Velite Concept . At the Beijing Auto Show in April 2018, Buick presented near-series models - both as plug-in hybrids and with battery-electric drive. A year later, the all-electric series model was presented at the Shanghai Auto Show . It has also been sold since then. A variant with a longer range followed in October 2019. Buick has also been selling the series as a plug-in hybrid since July 2020.

The Chevrolet Menlo presented in November 2019 uses the same technology as the Velite 6.

Technical specifications

The variant available for market launch in April 2019 has an 85 kW (116 PS) electric motor . The battery capacity is 35 kWh, giving a range of 301 km according to the NEDC driving cycle . The Velite 6 Plus, launched in October 2019, has 110 kW (150 PS). The 52.5 kWh battery enables a range of 410 km according to NEDC. In both variants, the maximum speed is 150 km / h.

With a system output of 135 kW (184 PS), the plug-in hybrid, which has been available since July 2020, is the most powerful variant of the series. The battery with a capacity of 9.5 kWh enables an electric range of 60 km according to NEDC.
