The Buick Model 5 was a passenger car made by the American manufacturer Buick .
description
Buick launched the model in the 1908 model year as the successor to the K model . It was the manufacturer's top model.
The car was powered by a large four-cylinder in - line engine , which developed an output of 40 bhp (29 kW) from a displacement of 5506 cm³. The T-head valve control was a special feature . The engine was installed at the front and drove the rear axle via a chain. The vehicles had spur gears with 3 forward gears.
The wheelbase was 2743 mm. The only body variant available was a five-seater tourer. The vehicle weighed 1676 kg. The model was available in red or blue and had ivory-colored wooden spoke wheels and decorations.
402 copies were made. The successor was the 6A model in the following year .
Existing vehicles
On July 29, 1999, a Buick Model 5 with British registration number DS 8447 sold for £ 18,500 . This vehicle is in the Museo de coches antiguos y clásicos in Spanish San Esteban de Galdames issued.
In the car museum vintage cars in Belgium Reninge also is an old Buick. According to the museum, this is a Buick Model 5 , but the displacement is specified as 5964 cm³.
