description

Although the company initially only produced buses, the company also entered automobile production in 1983 with the JN Auto . It was a small car that was produced under license from the Japanese Suzuki Alto . In the 100,000 m² plant that employs 1000 people, this quickly developed into the company's most important model. In 2003 the company joined the Jiangsu Mudan Automobile Group and became the most important company in this group with its production of the JN car with an annual output of more than 240,000 units. In China, the JN car can be seen in the daily street scene and dominates especially in rural regions, since customers there tend to be cheap models, to which the JN car belonged with around € 850 to € 3,200. With sales falling since 2005, the manufacturer is preparing for globalization .

Because of the engines used, JN Auto could not be marketed in Europe. The safety standards are also almost the same as those from the eighties. On the other hand, the Chunzhou buses, which are marketed almost all over the world, are more successful. In Europe, France, Spain and Italy are the most important target markets for Chunzhou. In China, however, Jiangnan gave up its JN Auto in 2009 and introduced newer models to replace it.
