Brilliance is a car brand from the People's Republic of China .

Brand history

This brand was introduced in 2000. Automobiles are on offer . The manufacturer was initially exclusively Shenyang Brilliance Jinbei Automobile from Shenyang , part of the Brilliance China Automotive Holdings group . The production of the Zhonghua sedans was transferred to Huachen Automotive Group Holding in December 2009 .

It is unclear how the brand will continue. Renault has acquired 49% of the shares in Shenyang Brilliance Jinbei Automobile and renamed the company Renault Brilliance Jinbei Automotibe .

The Brilliance Zhonghua was presented in December 2000 and sold from 2001. The group specifies August 2002 for this - however, approvals in 2001 have been handed down.

In December 2004 the Brilliance Zunchi followed . In addition to Zunchi, another source gives the names Grandeur and BS6 .

At the Leipzig Motor Show 2005 the Brilliance Junjie was presented, which went into production in January 2006. Another source mentions the names Junjie, Splendor and BS4 as well as March 2006 as the start of production. The group confirmed 2006. In 2008 a station wagon was added to the range on this basis. The group specified December 2008. The model was also offered in Germany.

In April 2007, the FRV (in another source M2 Junjie FRV) was shown at the Shanghai Auto Show . According to the company, it was launched on the market in June 2008.

The BC3 coupe (in another source M3 Kubao) followed. The group specifies September 2007 for this.

The Junjie Cross was released in June 2009 and the Junjie FSV in July 2009.

Model overview

The Brilliance model range is a bit confusing, as the models have different names in some markets. The following list is based on the information on new registrations in China, which have been available since 2003.

Quantities

In 2001 300 vehicles were produced. In the three following years there were 9,042, 27,054 and 11,806.

Another source names 7,166, 63,298 and 113,839 vehicles for 2005 and thereafter, although it remains unclear whether these are production or registration figures.

Registration numbers in China have been known since 2003. That year it was 25,599. In 2006, 60,588 were reached. 2013 was the best year so far with 188,143 registrations. In 2019 the number fell to 25,213.
