Changan is a car brand from the People's Republic of China .
Brand history
Chongqing Changan Automobile Company from Chongqing has been using this brand for small commercial vehicles since 1982 . In 1990 passenger cars were added.
Foreign production
Apart from China, Changan vehicles are or have been assembled in the following countries (as of 2008):
- Bangladesh since 1998
- Indonesia from 2001 to 2002
- Nepal from 2001 to 2002
- Turkey from 2001 to 2002 by Özmaktaş-Özaltın Makina Otomotiv as Özaltın
- Vietnam since 2003

- United States since July 2008 as a Tiger

vehicles
Initially, the vehicles were built under licenses from Suzuki . The minivans and pick-ups built up to 2000 were based on the Suzuki Carry . Other models of this type followed with Zhixing, Yuntong, Cuncuntong, Xuehu, Xingyun, Leimeng, Xingqing and Xingguang.
The Suzuki Alto car was offered as the Changan Alto SC 7080. Vehicles based on Suzuki Swift and Suzuki Zen followed.
In 2005, the Yufeng sports utility vehicle was presented as a prototype .
In 2006, serial production of the Changan Benben (also called Benni) began.
Jiexun followed in March 2007.
In 2008 the Zhixiang was added.

At the beginning of 2018, three reports appeared on the website www.carnewschina.com, according to which Cos should be introduced as a new brand. However, it is not confirmed in the corporate communications. The website for Oshan translates the terms Auchan , Ouchan and Ouchai .
