The Changan Raeton CC is a sedan built in 2017 by the Chinese automaker Chongqing Changan Automobile Company of the Changan brand in the mid-range segment.
Model history
The vehicle was presented to the public for the first time in late October 2017 at the TMG Art Center in Chongqing and at the 2017 Guangzhou Auto Show . Changan released the first photos and information about the vehicle in June 2017. Presale began on December 5, 2017 and it has been available in China since December 20, 2017. Two years earlier, a concept vehicle was presented at Auto Shanghai 2015 that also bears the name Raeton CC , but is a luxury vehicle in terms of body dimensions . The vehicle has been offered with a facelift since October 18, 2019 .

Engines
Only one engine variant is available for the vehicle: a 1.5-liter gasoline engine (more precisely, displacement 1499 cm³) with a maximum output of 115 kW (156 hp). The maximum torque of the engine is 225 Nm . From the start of delivery, the engine was certified according to the China V emissions standard. The engine was equipped by Changan with turbocharging and gasoline direct injection (name by Changan: Blue Core). The valve control contains two overhead camshafts (named by Changan: DOHC) and the function of a variable valve control (named by Changan: VVT). The combined standard fuel consumption is between 6.5 l / 100 km and 6.7 l / 100 km, depending on the equipment and transmission variant. The engine has been compliant with the China VI emissions standard since July 2019.
Power transmission
Either a manually operated six-speed manual transmission or a six- speed automatic transmission , which is supplied by Aisin , is installed as the transmission . The engine power is transmitted to the front wheels .
Performance
With the engine and transmission combinations offered, the vehicle reaches a top speed of 200 km / h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 11.4 s .
body
The original version of the vehicle is 4780 mm long, 1825 mm wide and 1465 mm high on the outside. The wheelbase of the four-door sedan is 2770 mm. The fuel tank has a capacity of 62 l . The empty weight is between 1425 kg and 1490 kg. The body consists of 56% high-strength steels . With the facelift and the modified bumpers, the external length has increased by 20 mm; it is now 4800 mm. The remaining external dimensions remain the same as the vehicle offered since 2017. The manufacturer also promises to have improved the NVH behavior.

The vehicle is equipped with MacPherson struts on the front axle and multi-link suspension on the rear axle . Depending on the equipment variant, the vehicle has either wheels with the tire designations 205/60 R16 or 215/50 R17; the front track is 1568-1580 mm and the rear track is between 1583 mm and 1595 mm.
Braking system
Disc brakes are used all around. They are designed as internally ventilated brake discs on the front axle and solid brake discs on the rear axle. The vehicle's parking brake is operated electrically (Changan name: EPB) and a hill start assistant (Changan name: Auto Hold).

The vehicle has six airbags and belt tensioners on the front seats. Both the headlights and the taillights are LED technology . In the crash test carried out by C-NCAP in 2018 , the vehicle received an overall rating of 86.9% and was given five stars. The overall rating is made up of the three weighted individual ratings: occupant safety with 65.18%, pedestrian safety with 10.17% and active safety with 11.52%.
Assistance systems
The vehicle is equipped with electromechanical (servo) steering (named by Changan: EPS), which can work in three different support levels. All four wheels are monitored by a tire pressure monitoring system. Four wide-angle cameras are also available on the outside of the vehicle. They enable the creation of a 360 ° view of the vehicle environment on the screen of the infotainment system. In addition to the brake booster , anti-lock braking system , vehicle dynamics control , traction control and electronic brake force distribution built in as standard in the 2010s , an adaptive cruise control system , a lane departure warning system , an evasive assistance system and an emergency braking assistant are available.
