The Changan CS55 is a compact SUV from the Chinese automaker Chongqing Changan Automobile Company of the Changan brand , which is positioned between the CS35 and the CS75 .
history
The vehicle debuted at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2017 . It was launched in the Chinese market on July 27, 2017. The CS55 was revised in mid-2018. In addition, a fully electric version called E-Rock was presented on July 15, 2020.
Technical specifications
The CS55 is powered by a supercharged 1.5-liter gasoline engine with 115 kW (156 hp). It has a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, a 6-speed automatic transmission is available at an additional cost . Four-wheel drive is not available.
The electric version has an output of 160 kW (218 hp) and a torque of 300 Nm. For the battery capacity, there is a choice between a version with 52.7 kWh and 84.2 kWh, which should enable a range of 403 or 605 km according to the NEDC . In fast charging mode, the charging time should be 30 to 80 percent in 35 minutes.

Trivia
At the end of 2018, the CS55 made an entry in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest parade of autonomous vehicles . 56 vehicles were to drive autonomously one behind the other on a test track in Dianjiang . Since one person intervened in a car, the record is given as 55 vehicles.
