Tantos ( 天 越 轿车 ; Tiān Yuè) is a 2007 registered car brand of Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. with Volkswagen (China) Investment Co., Ltd. Both companies each have a 50 percent stake in the brand. Only electric cars are to be manufactured under the new brand name. The VW group uses Tantos as a brand in the competition for the Chinese electric vehicle market alongside the Kaili brand from the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture.
