Jinbei is a car brand from the People's Republic of China .

Brand history

Shenyang Auto Works from Shenyang manufactured commercial vehicles under the Liaoning brand from 1978 at the latest . Shenyang Bus Repair & Assembly Works , later renamed Shenyang Car Works , began producing buses under the same brand in 1978 . These two companies merged to form Jinbei Automobile . Another source mentions the name Shenyang Jinbei Automobile as well as production since 1970. From 1989 a cooperation with Toyota came about . In 1995 China FAW Group took over Shenyang Jinbei Automobile and in 2001 passed the majority of the shares on to Brilliance China Automotive Holdings .

In 1991, Shenyang Jinbei Automobile and Brilliance established Shenyang Jinbei Passenger Vehicle Manufacturing . The brand name Jinbei was used from 1991. In 2001, Brilliance renamed this company Shenyang Brilliance Jinbei Automobile .

Around 2006, Brilliance and Wuliangy also founded the Shenyang Jinbei Vehicle Manufacturing Mianyang Branch in Mianyang . Another source cites December 2003, Wuliangye Group Mianyang and Shenyang Jinbei Auto Manufacturing for this operation . SUVs and pick-ups have been manufactured there since 2007 . The annual capacity is 150,000 vehicles. At the beginning of 2016, the plant operated as Mianyang Huarui Auto Co. Ltd.

Renault acquired 49% of the shares in Shenyang Brilliance Jinbei Automobile in January 2018. Since then, the company has been called Renault Brilliance Jinbei Automotive .

From 1991 minibuses and from 2002 minivans under licenses from Toyota.

In 2003 the range included the following models:

  • SY 6470 Grace , since 2002 a van with either seven or nine seats licensed by the Toyota Granvia or Toyota Hiace Export . Engines with 2400 cm³ displacement and 90 kW and 2700 cm³ displacement and 110 kW propelled the vehicles.
  • SY 6470 CAZM , SY 6470 CASM , SY 6471 Granse and the longer SY 6520 Granse with nine seats, since March 2004 revised and more luxuriously equipped versions of the Grace . In addition, an engine with a displacement of 2700 cm³ and 105 kW was available.
  • SY 6491-ME , since August 2003 a seven-seater SUV, engine with 2200 cm³ displacement and 76 kW.
  • SY 1023 SCN-ME , since August 2003 a five-seater pick-up with the same engine as the SUV.

In 2008 the offer included the Granse BPV (Business Purpose Vehicle), which was introduced in November 2002. It was based on the Toyota Hiace and was developed with the help of TJ Innova Engineering & Technology . It was available in the variants SY 6470 , SY 6471 , SY 6520 , SY 6521 and SY 6524 . The vehicles had wheelbases from 2985 mm to 3430 mm. The length was either 4715 mm, 4790 mm, 5160 mm or 5235 mm, the width 1800 mm and the height between 1970 mm and 1980 mm.

In 2007 and 2008 the Mianyang plant also produced the Badao SY 6480 SUV . There was a choice of four-cylinder engines with a displacement of 1997 cc, displacement of 2237 cc and displacement of 2771 cc in the output levels 73.5 kW, 76 kW and 68 kW. With a wheelbase of 2750 mm, the vehicle was 4843 mm long, 1770 mm wide and 1870 mm high. The curb weight was given as 1630 kg to 1670 kg.

In 2007 there were also the Jindian 007 SY 1023 EC 5 , Yuanzheng SY 1025 and Leilong SY 1026 pick-ups .

In 2008 the seven-seater Chaoba SY 6490 SUV from the Mianyang plant added to the range. The vehicle had four-cylinder engines with 1997 cc and 73.5 kW and 2771 cc and 78 kW. Its wheelbase was 3,025 mm. The vehicle was 4860 mm long, 1780 mm wide and 1880 mm high.

The car catalog of the model year 2016 calls S 30 and S 50 as well as the SUV Vans X 30 , 750 and Grace .

In 2016, the brand's website named the models H 2 , fifth and sixth generation Haise , Granse Yuling , Granse Zhiling and Granse Zunling . The Haise is based on the Toyota Hiace .

In July 2020, Haise , Grand Haise and Granse were named.

Registration numbers in China are known for five models: 750, F50, Grace, Guanjing and S50.
