China Youngman Automobile Group was a manufacturer of motor vehicles from the People's Republic of China .
Company history
The company was founded on January 9, 2001. The seat was in Jinhua . In 2002 the production of buses began . The licensor was Neoplan .
In November 2003 a contract was signed with MAN . From August 2004 MAN trucks were manufactured.
In 2004 Guizhou Yunque was acquired and renamed Guizhou Youngman Yunque Automobile Company . With this purchase, the company obtained state permission to manufacture passenger cars .
In 2006 there was an agreement with Iran Khodro . The plan was to assemble a model from Iran Khodro in China. In February 2008, the agreement was terminated without a single vehicle being manufactured.
With proton there was a contract for Proton vehicles. The plan was for Proton to deliver 30,000 complete vehicles within 20 months, which were to be given the new Europestar trademark in China and which were to be sold through Youngman Automobiles Sales . It was launched on January 9, 2008. In November 2008, it was reported that a second Proton model would also be marketed as Europestar with Europestar emblems. It is unclear whether anything actually came of this project. There are no known approval figures for Europestar.
From 2010, cars were manufactured with the help of Lotus Cars and sold as Youngman Lotus . A source from January 2011 states that the brand name changed a few months ago. The car registrations for this brand will end in 2015. In February 2015, it was reported that Proton found a new partner in China.
The company was reported in May 2019 when it announced it had developed an engine that would run on water . Then the track of the company is lost.
Car
The Europestar RCR corresponded to the Proton GEN • 2 and the Europestar Jingyue (also Europestar Persona) corresponded to the Proton Persona .
The Youngman Lotus L3 was available with a notchback and hatchback from 2010 to 2015 and also as a GT from 2013 to 2015.
The Youngman Lotus L5 was also available with a notchback and hatchback from 2011 to 2015.
There are also references to the Youngman Lotus T5 sports utility vehicle .
