Shijiazhuang Shuanghuan Automobile Co., Ltd. was an automobile manufacturer from the People's Republic of China .

description

The company was founded in 1988 in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province . It sold its vehicles under the Shuanghuan brand name . The brand name has become known in the press mainly because of its plagiarism. In 2002 Shuanghuan bought the Red Star Auto Manufacturing Company , thereby acquiring its own chain of dealers and workshops called Red Star . In 2009, Shuanghuan itself was then owned by Liaoning SG Automotive Co, Ltd. bought up. Shuanghuan used the vehicle identification number HBJ.

commercial vehicles

The manufacturer's first model was a pickup truck called the Shuanghuan Laibao . This SUV pickup, established in April 1988, was a plagiarism of the then Toyota Hilux . The expected sales were not achieved. The manufacturer lowered its expectations for the near future, but still left the vehicle in production unchanged for a long time. It wasn't until 1998 that Shuanghuan established its second model. It was the Shuanghuan Jiaolian , which was also available as a pick-up in the HBJ 6460 version and as the HBJ 5020 as a panel van with windows. The model had visual similarities to the Toyota RAV4 . In 2002 Shuanghuan removed the model from its model range. Introduced in summer 1999, the Shuanghuan Rabo S-RV was its sister model and was produced for the marketing company Laibao . The Rabo S-RV was built until December 2007.

Automobiles and SUVs

In 2002 Shuanghuan also got into automobile production and presented its luxurious SUV called Shuanghuan SCEO (internal C9 ). The first disputes arose in 2006 when the Italian manufacturer presented its Martin Motors CEO, produced under license from the SCEO, at the Bologna Motor Show . BMW accused Shuanghuan of producing a plagiarism of the BMW X5 and consequently tried to prevent an exhibition at all other motor shows in Europe. Among other things, BMW was also able to obtain a sales ban in Germany . In 2004 Shuanghuan produced two more plagiarisms under the names Shuanghuan Bubble and Shuanghuan Noble , which were very similar to the German smart city-coupé . Internally, these were called S6 . These should also bring the manufacturer another success and he sold them worldwide with the exception of Germany. In Greece, Mercedes-Benz obtained an exhibition and import ban. The cheaper bubble was removed from the model range in late 2007. These two models were also launched by the Italian Martin Motors . In 2007 the already outdated Rabo S-RV was revised. The interior was also modernized and upgraded. In contrast to its predecessor, the Shuanghuan S-RV was now a pure SUV and could no longer be converted into a commercial vehicle. Furthermore, it was only intended for export. As a result, from July 2010 only the CEO off-road vehicle and the Noble small car were available in the model range.

On March 7, 2016, Chinadaily.com.cn announced that the Chinese government had liquidated the company.
